This is a follow up to the Travel Like a Yoga Teacher post that you all loved so much!
I am traveling to India this coming winter so my wonderful man has been making sure we are still getting the right credit cards to make my travel cheap and easy! He typed up the information for last minute travel hacking for the India group.
Are you doing some big travels this winter. Want to spend less? Check out his suggestions!
Venture Card
You get 50,000 miles after spending $3,000 in the first three months. There is a 90 day look back period to “erase” travel purchases with miles at 1 cent per mile. If you time it right, you can buy flights on the card, then meet your minimum spend, get the bonus, and then “erase” over $500 of the flight cost. Has a $95 annual fee that is waived in year 1. If you decide to apply, please consider using my referral link: https://capital.one/ 2NWtz6f
When to use: if you will be paying cash to fly to India and want to book before you could earn miles with another card.
Chase Sapphire Preferred
You get 60,000 Chase Ultimate Reward Points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months. That’s $750 toward travel when you redeem through Chase Ultimate Rewards Portal OR you can transfer 1:1 to several airline partners including United (ie the bonus could be worth 60,000 United Miles if desired). Has a $95 annual fee that IS NOT waived in year 1. If you decide to apply, please consider using my referral link: https://www. referyourchasecard.com/6a/ ZD47Z82SHI
When to use: if you will be spending $4,000 elsewhere before you will be booking India flights. Note that the billing cycle needs to close to get your bonus miles.
United Card
You get 40,000 United Miles after spending $2,000 in the first three months. You need 45k miles for a one-way to India. Get Chase Sapphire Preferred first, if possible. You also have expanded award flight availability on United by holding this card. Has a $95 annual fee that is waived in year 1. If you decide to apply, please consider using my referral link: https://www. referyourchasecard.com/217/ 5MB7Y2GE1E
When to use: if you will be spending $2,000, but less than $4,000 elsewhere before you will be booking India flights. Note that the billing cycle needs to close to get your bonus miles.
Happy Travels!
